Trail & Project Safety
Rides
and
project are
open to active BCHI members. A
number of Public events are planned each year, Invite a friend. Member
and
stock safety
takes priority in everything the
chapter does. First
aid
kits and emergency
contact devices will be
carried on all projects & rides. Carry
a
personal medical info form in your saddle
bags. Carry
any
special
medications in your saddle bags. Dogs
are
welcome in camp,
but not on work projects & trail rides. Stock
must be
under control
at all times. If
your horse or
mules kicks,
ribbon on their tail. A
pre-event
safety meeting
will be held. Members
must
have Sawyer training to use power saws
on
chapter projects. Required
safety
gear will be
worn when running saws. No alcoholic
beverage until
after the work is done.

Trail Ride with Pack Stock - saddle fitting, load balancing, safe stock leading
Location: Succor Creek Owyhee Canyon Lands

Project Directions & Information, The group meets at the Homedale
highschool at 09:30 and convoys to the trail head together.
If you have stock and packing equipment bring it. If you have a potential
pack stock but don't have the equipment, contact Dan abount borrowing
some for this event. (Limit 2 pack stock being lead)
A potluck picnic will be held after the ride.

?? Recon Ride - Monday October 6, 2025 - South of Stolle Meadows - Cascade ID
We
have a request to do a bridge recognizance ride from the Cupp corral
trail head, south of Warm Lake on the south fork of the Salmon River
with Adam Floyd (USFS). The riders will be meeting in Cascade at
07:00 Monday October 6th, at the Forest Service Storage in Cascade and
driving up to the trail head which is up the Stolle Meadows road.
The goal is pictures and measurements for a bridge replacement project
in 2026-2027.
